Be sure to bring your bike for this iconic 96km long biking trail that stretches from Bairnsdale to Newmerella.
Expect smooth trails with some steep inclines throughout. The trail can be broken into 4 sections:
- Bairnsdale to Nicholson (8km) - stock up on supplies in Nicholson and cross the fully restored trestle bridge.
- Nicholson to Bruthen (20km) - a packed gravel trail with some large embankments to cross.
- Bruthen to Nowa Nowa (30km) - the best section with amazing landscape and the iconic Stony Creek Trestle Bridge to admire (pictured). This is also where the Discovery Trail from Lakes Entrance joins in.
- Nowa Nowa to Orbost (Newmerella) (38km) - no towns in this section, make sure you are fully prepared with food and water.
