Biking around Lakes Entrance

Biking around Lakes Entrance image

Bring your bike and enjoy the great outdoors, from a great family trail to the epic East Gippsland Rail Trail!

There are many beautiful views to be had from a bike throughout our region. A great place to start is the well paved bicycle and walking path along the foreshore, following the waters edge of the Esplanade.

Next, you might like to take your mountain bike and try the Discovery Trail, which is a a family ride through the Colquhoun State Forest. You can access the Discovery Trail from Myer Street in Lakes Entrance and at the end of the Discovery Trail leads onto the East Gippsland Rail Trail (from Bairnsdale through to Orbost).

The wonderful East Gippsland Rail Trail is 96km in length and can be broken into smaller chunks. As the name suggests, it follows the original train lines and you will see 3 major wooden trestle bridges along the way.

Don’t forget your water bottle, snacks, and of course your camera!
